The membership of Air-Spacers Flying Club (Air-Spacers Inc.) has donated to and supports the campaign for the voter ballot initiative to allow San Monica, CA residents to decide the future of SMO – Santa Monica Municipal Airport. Last night (March 10), a quick head count revealed that Air-Spacer’s members made up approximately 10% of the attendance held at the Santa Monica Airport Association meeting.  At the meeting, key topics were covered that revolved around the closure of the airport and how it could hurt the local economy, amongst other key issues.

Topic covered included:

  • The history of the Santa Monica Airport
  • How individuals could help fight too keep the airport open
  • What the opposition was doing to aid in assistance towards the airport’s closure
  • Previous meeting minutes, a vote, and other internal line items
